Rick Ross passes out on plane, forces emergency landing

Rick Ross

Rapper Rick Ross, nicknamed "The Boss," was scheduled to perform tonight at FedExForum in Memphis as part of its free Memphis Madness event.

The event, to be televised live on Fox, marks the University of Memphis' first official practice for the 2011-12 basketball season.

But TMZ is reporting that Ross, 35, has collapsed on a plane from Ft. Lauderdale to Memphis. He was unconscious and a doctor performed CPR on him while on the plane, which made an emergency landing. Ross was taken to a hospital.

After the plane landed, EMTs continued to administer CPR to Ross on a gurney at the airport. It is currently unclear as to when Ross was revived and the extent to which his life was in danger, but the rap mogul is apparently okay.

Ross, who is currently preparing for the release of his fifth studio album, is also slated to make an appearance at a Wingstop Memphis, for a grand opening event on Saturday

Tweets have emerged from rapper and close friend Wale as well as Ross himself that he is doing just fine.

Rapper Wale also tweeted
@Wale: I just talked to Ross...he's 100 pct ok...
@tmz #dontpanic
@RickRozay: Never dat homie...we outchea
