BREAKING NEWS: Explosion hits Nigeria's eastern Taraba state: witness
Witnesses and the Nigerian Red Cross say an explosion has struck near government buildings in Nigeria's Taraba state, causing injuries.
The blast happened Monday morning at a road junction near the offices of the Taraba state governor and could have been targeting the police commissioner who drove past shortly before the blast. A report from the Nigerian Red Cross said some people were hurt in the blast and taken to nearby hospitals. Police declined to immediately comment as officers surrounded the road junction. ’’
On Sunday, at least 19 people were killed in two attacks on Christian worshippers. A university theatre used for services in the northern city of Kano and a church in northeast Maiduguri, Boko Haram's home town, were attacked by gunmen.
