Akinwumi Adesina Awarded Forbes Africa Person Of The Year
Nigeria’s Minister for Agriculture Dr. Akinwumi Adesina has been named the 2013 Forbes African of the Year beating Nigerian billionaires Aliko Dangote and Jim Ovia. Adesina was given the award for his reforms to the country’s agricultural sector.
“I am truly honoured and humbled by this prestigious award, which I dedicate to Africa’s farmers and the new cadre of young business entrepreneurs who have discovered the hidden gem for sustainable wealth creation on our continent – Agriculture,” Adesina said receiving the award.
"He is a man on a mission to help Africa feed itself", said Forbes Africa editor Chris Bishop.
The Nigerian minister had made commendable impact in the Agriculture sector within two years of his taking office
