Nigeria’s Got Talent [@naijagottalent] debuts on TV with a bang!
Last week Sunday, November 17, 2013, one of the most anticipated shows on nationwide television, Nigeria’s Got Talent premiered.
Aired on NTA, STV, Soundcity, ONTV and various Startimes Channels, the big-budgeted reality show saw us through the city of Ibadan with quite a number of talents ranging from acrobats to dancers, to motorbike riders (popularly known as okada riders) and many more, summing up to the good, bad and extremely ugly.
Hosted by Andre Blaze, the judging trio of Kate Henshaw, Dan Foster and Yibo Koko came all prepared. “Ibadan does have talent,” said Yibo Koko. “Some unique, some awesome and a few misplaced acts, but all in all it was a very good show.”
Kicking off the show was The Unique Dance Crew. They came prepared to wow the judges and they didn’t fail at their mission as Kate commended them for opening the show with such an amazing performance.
Slow, steady and pleasant the show went till it was the turn of Adeyemi Abosede the comedian. His act was not only an apology but it also unleashed the bitter side of Yibo Koko who referred to Adeyemi as someone worse than an idiot.
Despite the horror brought by some of the acts, a few of the contestants were able to earn awesome remarks from the judges. 9-year-old, David Adekoya received endless praises after his drumming performance. Laff Doctor and Ismail Ayanfe, a Fuji singer also excelled in the sight of the judges.
