OUR LOVE STORY FOLUKE DARAMOLA’S LOVE-STRUCK KAYODE SALAKO TELLS IT ALL
So why are you getting out of your marriage, did you find it so hot for you to stay and mend?
Well, thank you I’m not the one separating from my ex-wife, I’m not the one divorcing her, she is the one divorcing me. She is the one that sent me out of the home, she sent me packing and for the reason best known to her because I don’t think there is anything I could have done that could have warranted her sending me out of the marriage, sending me into the cold night in quote, “without a blanket or hot tea, but thank God, Foluke Daramola has all of that and she provides all for me right now.
Can you recall how you met Foluke Daramola?
Foluke and I met circumstance-cially, we met during the wee days of Fashola-mania that we did for Governor Raji Fashola. She came in at the wee hour , when we were almost rounding off and then she is one of those that believed Fashion- mania was too narrow for an individual person that we needed another platform that could be talking about positive change in Nigeria, so I came up with another idea of ‘ Change Agents of Nigeria Network,’ a platform I have initiated to start bringing all agents of change in Nigeria together under one voice , one strong voice, to start persuading, start calling seriously for the political leadership of Nigeria to start changing Nigeria positively. So she bought the idea and since then she has been identified with it and has put a lot efforts as the head of National Publicity Secretary of the organization while I’m the National Co-coordinator. With this complimenting role, it is natural that we will be working closely together. And we have been working together for the past eight months and along the line we started discovering so many outstanding attributes in each other. I think the chemistry started developing and working out, and Foluke discovered those outstanding attributes she had wanted in a man were in me and vice- versa. Along the line, we started appreciating each other, we started to relate more closely and today the product of the appreciation is what the whole world is reading about us.
Where exactly do you think your former wife would have done wrong to come to separation between both of you after 13 years of marriage?
Lack of contentment, mental egotism, and spiritual domination. She dominated the marriage all along, and over the time we were together and she thought it could always continue like that but even recently she took up a rude attitude towards my father, and as her husband I called her to order but she took it as an affront to her authority, the authority she has been exercising in the room over time, she took it as her authority, she also fought with my blood brother, Segun. Because Segun had to move into my house when he won the US Visa Lottery and it was at a time too that his house rent lapsed so I just told him he did not have to renew the payment since he will be leaving the country in no time with his family.
So, since my father and brother moved in to my house it has been war in the house. Every time she fights almost every member of my family and all the time we have to reconcile and not long after she started packing her things, she said she was tired of the marriage and that I have been planning with members of my family to kill her, that she was no longer safe with me hence she moved out. Then I felt there was more to it than meets the eye because all my efforts to bring her back into reconciliation were all futile.
Did you send emissaries to her, like relations, friends?
You can imagine that more than two hundred people begged my ex-wife to come back but she refused, so it got to me that I came back to my senses that it was not compulsory that I have to continue to beg a woman not to leave me and if she is tired, let me look up to some one that is very close to me and I think that was when Foluke showed up. She became my comforter, my soul mate and a bosom friend and today it has metamorphosed into a marital conviction, and I am more than one thousand percent convinced of this that Foluke Daramola will settle down and live the rest of her life with me very soon.
There are insinuations that you are probably hypnotized?
(Laughs), Two thousands Foluke can’t break my marriage neither can she hypnotize me because I’m a real man; before she engages in anything like that I would know. When real men do things they do it with conviction. The Foluke Daramola I know does not do juju, Foluke has not jazzed me, she is an educated person, a woman with a Master’s Degree couldn’t have time for diabolic or fetish tendencies o practice. Instead of devoting her time running such frivolities she would have gone back to school to study to become another Master’s Degree. The Foluke Daramola I know is from a very good Family, a Christian family, Baptist family to be precise. I’m also from a Baptist background.
From our orientation and upbringing, people who grew up with core Baptist’s values do not have time for fetish things and I can tell you that Foluke does not have time for such things. The only thing I know she could have done to hypnotize me is maybe through the recitation of her Psalms. you know into water before she bath in the morning, Foluke Daramola can recite about twenty five psalm in the bible of hand, that is one of her characteristics that has got me closely endeared to her, she is a very prayerful woman and she has a open heart and that is why she is temperamental......
