Wife of Late Foremost Educator, Tai Solarin, Sheila, Dies At 83
Sheila Mary Tuer(nee Shiela Solarin) widow of the late renowned social critic, Dr. Tai Solarin, is dead at the age of 83.
Sheila died on Sunday afternoon at about 4.30pm at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital, ilishan Remo, Ogun State. She had reportedly slipped while going to bed some months back and was rushed to the hospital where she was operated upon.
Sheila was reported to have sustained a broken hip as a result of the domestic accident.
Sheila died on Sunday at the hospital. Her two children Corin and Tunde were said to have been by her bedside at the hospital when she passed on.
Sheila was knighted and awarded the Member of British Empire (MBE) in 2007 by Queen Elizabeth, Two state-owned tertiary institutions were named after Dr. Solarin. They are; Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijebu-Ode and Tai Solarin College of Education ((TASCE), Omu-Ijebu.
Funeral arrangements for the late educator will be announced soon.
