BREAKING NEWS: JTF Helicopter crashes in Jos, kills four including a newly appointed DIG John Haruna
A helicopter belonging to the Special Task force has crashed in Jos, the Plateau state captial killing all on board. Newly promoted Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations, Jonh Haruna has been confirmed dead alongside three other senior police officers in a helicopter crash in Jos, Plateau state on Wednesday.
TheBell 427 Joint Task Force helicopter was reported to have crashed on a house around Rukuba road behind Jos satellite market as it embarked on it’s regular surveillance routine early Wednesday morning.
Multiple sources say the helicopter crashed, Casualty figure is yet to be ascertained as regards the occupants of the building but the pilot and four officers on board did not survive the crash.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the incident. The Special task force was set-up to coordinate the security of the troubled state following killing of hundreds of people.
