Wayne Rooney deletes 'Manchester United player' from Twitter bio

Wayne Rooney has deleted the words 'Manchester United player' from his Twitter bio, further fuelling speculation that he is on his way out of Old Trafford.

Everton manager David Moyes, who Rooney previously played under at Goodison Park before his big-money transfer to United, is soon to be unveiled as Sir Alex Ferguson's replacement.

However, it appears that the 27 year-old has removed now 'Manchester United player' from his Twitter account, with it now just reading '@NikeUK athlete'.

It is understood that Rooney, 27, has no desire to move away from the Premier League and that Chelsea is his most likely destination. Rooney’s uncertain future has increased speculation of a move for former player Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract negotiations have reached an impasse at Real Madrid.
